چکیده

Distributed multiple access techniques provide quality of service through prioritization of access. Tiered Contention Multiple Access (TCMA) is a CSMA/CA protocol that differentiates between traffic priority classes with respect to the following: arbitration time, persistence factor, and the MAC layer dwell-time limit. The arbitration time is the idle time required before transmission may be attempted. The persistence factor is the coefficient multiplying the contention window size in successive retransmission attempts following a collision. The MAC layer dwell-time limit restricts the time a packet spends in the MAC layer. Several variations of TCMA are possible. Features of TCMA have been adopted as the EDCF MAC protocol presently under review for adoption into the 802.11 Standard. Simulation results are presented comparing the performance of TCMA to the legacy 802.11 MAC protocol.

A method to increasing the Quality of Service (QoS) in Wireless body area networks by providing a MAC layer Protocol based of Internet of Things

With the development of technology, the use of wireless telecommunication networks for the various affairs is essential. These networks are one of the safest and most widely used networks, for instance, in medical care and remote patient monitoring. What matters is the quality of service in these networks. The purpose of this paper is to increase packet transduction in a wireless body area netw...

Location Based Zonal QoS Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

In M2M communication, there is critical requirement of robust MAC protocol to enable multiple M2M devices to access the channel. For this purpose, a frame based hybrid MAC protocol consisting of CSMA-based contention period and TDMA based transmission period is presented in the literature. During contention period, the devices compete for the channel access and those devices which win a slot in...

A QoS Ad Hoc On Demand Multi-path Distance Vector Routing Protocol (QAOMDV) over a Distributed TDMA MAC Protocol for Ad Hoc Networks

This paper focuses on the problem of QoS multi-path in wireless ad hoc networks. An integration of a novel multi-path routing protocol and a distributed Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) MAC protocol is proposed. The MAC considered is called Evolutionary TDMA (E-TDMA) and the analysed multi-path routing protocol is the Ad Hoc On Demand multi-path Distance Vector (AOMDV) protocol. The integra...

A load awareness medium access control protocol for wireless ad hoc network

A contention-based wireless ad hoc medium access control (MAC) protocol, such as carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA), has the excellence of simple and efficient when the system is light-loaded. The main drawback of such protocols is their inefficiency and unbounded delay when system load is heavy. On the other hand, a contention-free MAC protocol, such as token pass...

MIMO-aware Medium Access Control in IEEE 802.11 Networks

Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are dynamically self-organized and self-configured, where the nodes in the network automatically establish an ad hoc network and maintain mesh connectivity. These properties make WMNs a key technology for nextgeneration wireless networking. However, supporting Quality of Service (QoS) to enable multimedia services is still one of the major issues in next-generation...
